The second recording was cut in a very cheap studio in NewYor City by a friend of Richard Harper who thought his sound was the bestaround! Jimi did a good job on it but thought it was not up to Snuff and was going to send it to a friend of his who was basing in London. The friend asked him how it was and he sang him a couple of bars and asked if he wanted to hear it. He said "It's a bit poor" and Jimi laughed and said "It's alright" and played a couple of bars for him again.Richard Harper recalls that the song was cut in three takes before Jimi and Knight andperhaps Harper himself, but not Leonard Chalpin who was recording James Brownon the same day! The song, "Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere" was eventually released as a B-Side to the The Beatles single "Paperback Writer".
The only live performances here are from the 6/1/67 Record Plant Studio in NewYork & a concert at the Pauly Adlon Club on June 2. In the first Jimiplays more of a bass role and sketches out on his guitar but the songis very short and it was a real rarity that he played a fuzz tone on abass at the time. In the second he went into more of a rock bassmode and slightly away from his jazz-fusion sound. He also uses a slowed down (and very intense) version of his Hausman fuzz tone with no delay - an excellent example of the impact over a super-duper fuzz tone.
"The official Jimi Hendrix KZ2000" A version of Jimi Hendrix, made all themore convincing by the Kenwood system, on three Koof Blow solo versions/jams. This is definetely one of Jimi's best sounding stuff! If only they had put it on here! d2c66b5586
