In this document, when we refer to the standard, we mean ISO 17776:2010 and ISO 17776:2016. We refer to ISO 17776 as the Document in Focus. The reference for ISO 17776 is ISO 17776-2016, Risk management for offshore oil and gas production installations.
The standard was developed in compliance with ISO 17776:2010. It is divided into twelve parts which cover the following topics:
Background and rationale;
Defining major accident (MA) hazards;
Classification of risks and risk levels;
Defining strategies for risk assessment and risk mitigation;
Development of strategies for risk assessment and risk mitigation;
Risk management in operation.
